THINGS I FEEL NO NEED TO DO BEFORE I DIE

I've been away, but not loafing. I've been gathering (and continue to gather) info for an upcoming blog on the universal Canadian and European health care systems, in contrast to the pathetic, profit-for-pharmaceutical companies-and-insurance companies-first one we are currently suffering under. But meanwhile, here's a type of list I've seen going around on numerous other sites lately.

Things I feel NO need to do before I die are:

1. Become a member of an exclusive country club.
2. Meet Ann Coulter or Rush Limbaugh.
3. Work for a major multinational corporation.
4. Vote conservative Republican.
5. Golf.
6. Record a rap song.
7. Eat liver, broccoli, or brussels sprouts.
8. Climb a mountain.
9. Join an intolerant fundamentalist church.
10. Read "War and Peace."
11. EVER hear another George W. Bush or Dick Cheney speech!
12. Sit down and talk with Michele Bachmann.

I'm sure I'll think of more later, but for now, that's it. Back to my health care research-gathering task!

@Jack,

7) Brocoli is great. You just have to drown it in cheddar, like all vegetables.
10) "War and Peace" is a rewarding read... and you can tell me all about once you get through it and save me the trouble.

Funny list.
America awaits your findings on health care.

Thanks, SJ! You're hilarious. I had a good laugh with your no. 10 comment! :)

Another vote here for broccoli, though I like it fine lightly steamed and bare-naked.

Eat it because HW hates it, if for no other reason.

But your number 12 makes up for your anti-broccoli prejudice.

a good account of what NOT to do! wanna know what I don't need to do? leave my country and take it up as an expatriot, listen for two hours everyday to 'talking heads' ala CNN, be judged by my income and chastised by a neighborhood Republican... that's going around down here in FL! good spot Jack!

Jack,
Given the mastery of words you demonstrate here, I think the rap world could only be greatly enriched by a contribution from you. I wouldn't dismiss a "Saturday Afternoon Post Rap" so quickly.

May I tip my hat to your list in total agreement.

Brussels sprouts, Ann Coulter, and Dick Cheney all trigger my instant gag reflex.
